Thanks for the links, I'll give those sites a try.

I use the job centre online search but nothing normally comes up. I found this one on the leeds council website and most of the ones I've applied for I've found on none job centre related sites. I'm signed up to a few agencies who swore they would have me work with in the week but that was a few months ago. When I ring em they just speal me.

Apparently the position was withdrawn due to 'lack of funding'. I know they're obliged to tell me why they withdrew the position, and why if I got to interview stage and didn't get it, but it doesn't make much difference; I still didn't get it and I'm not going to.

For example I had an interview at Leeds Met earlier this year. Really good interview, positive response; didn't get the job. They filled the position internally. Then I got a call from the head of that school asking if I wanted the position left by the person moving to the new one. I said yes, he assured me it would work out but after a couple of months phoning every few days and being told they were waiting for 'paperwork' it turns out it was a load of bullshit and they never had the position. Why oh why did this idiot get my hopes up? I wanted to do something with that, complain or rock the boat some how but I came to the conclusion of "Why bother? It's effort for me and I'm still going to have no job and not benefit from complaining. Best using my time to look for another job".

I'm sure something will come up eventually. Just got to keep positive and keep looking.

I quite like the idea of carpet bombing agencies though. Very appealing.

Do you have to go through the JC or can you just go sign up with an agency or something? I got a lot of offers through myleedsjobs.co.uk, and most of them were just through signing up with loads of agencies. If you go to mywestyorkshirejobs.co.uk, you can search through Bradford.

If you do a proper carpet-bombing of every single agency you can think of, something *has* to come up.

Have you got back in touch with the places that have withdrawn their offers and asked them why? They're legally obliged to tell you! I'd be grilling them until they told me what the craic was....

Mmm, rectal probes. Haha.
I get ID'ed ALL THE TIME. It's proper blagging. I wasn't allowed into Queens Court the other day because "you just look really young". Umm, eh? I'm nearly 25, am nowhere NEAR flat chested, not that petite, how do I look under 18? It's not even flattering anymore.
My dad got fucking ID'ed in Las Vegas!! They were playing in a bar and apparently over there it's 'Challenge 30'. My dad practically snogged the bouncer with glee after getting checked.

Aww man, that's lethal. I'm going to be on google translate all day long instead of doing shitey customer feedback audits. I did "shut your face" and in Arabic translated back to English it came up with the marginally funnier but less effective "close your face". Fair enough. I need to try harder to really bring the belly laughs.

Thanks for that information. I don't run 10.5 (too many features I don't need or want and not enough that I do) but I hope this will be of use to someone, and great that it's Open Source. Apple need to start taking notes.

On a related subject, I was checking out Wireshark running on Ubuntu 7.10 the other day and using it it is pretty easy to intercept the relevant URLs of video sharing sites, and thus remove all those annoying ads and flash containers that limit you from watching things full screen. Plus it's direct, so by definition a bit faster. WAAAYYYY!!!

Keep checking http://www.rebuildtherobots.com and hopefully Jay will make some kind of application that utilizes this and makes it easier to get all the episodes you want. RSS Feeds & Wireshark = Automated whole season downloads?

wget | wireshark -i | grep "HTTP./" | grep "./.flv"

OOh yes

The current X11 version on Mac OSX 10.5 has a glitch that does not allow Wireshark (a network traffic analysis app) to work normally.

Several corrected X11 packages for 10.5 that run Wireshark normally are out there, for example: http://xquartz.macosforge.org/downloads/X11-2.1.1.pkg

A link to the webpage describing the issue with X11 on Mac OS 10.5:
http://www.finkconsulting.com/page7.php
(No, I am not employed by them, and yes, it is a open source).

I hadn't updated when I wrote this due to a fresh install of 10.4.8 but regardless the problems with the downloads from the Apple site are persistant.

They're remaking Spaced as well.
Apart from the fact that a) it will probably have little, if any, relevance to U.S. audiences; b) even remade in the UK this year it would probably have less relevance than it did when it first aired; c)why why why why?

It makes me cringe that money will be thrown at remakes when there is probably an untapped mine of new or original ideas floating around out there.

Don't even get me started on Asian Cinema/Hollywood. Ugh.
