system_clock_set_too_early

Shows that the internal hardware clock of an Apple computer running OS X Tiger 10.4.8 is set incorrectly / not set.

This is a result of a dead internal battery and can result from leaving your computer powered off and unplugged (i.e not charging) for an extended period of time.

As the notice informs you, this can result in applications behaving erratically both in OS X and when installing or running other OS’s, specifically in my experience Ububtu Linux. In all versions of Ubuntu Desktop PPC from 6.06 to 7.10 if the system clock is set inccorectly (i.e too ealry) the GNOME components of the OS will fail to load and funtion, giving you the following errors:

I can understand the clock resetting to an earlier time, but mine always resets to like 1964 or something. Apple wasn't even around then!
